Unwrap the pod
Unwrap the pack.
Place the pod
Place the full colour pod and damp fabrics in the washing machine.
Run two wash cycles
- Start a first 40°C cotton wash cycle
- Add detergent and run a second 40°C cotton wash cycle with dyed fabric
Dry fabric and you’re done! We recommend to run an empty cycle with detergent and always read full instructions before use.
Factors that affect the colour results
The current colour of the fabric
The colour result will depend on the different colours mixed. For example, dyeing a green shirt with a Tulip Red DYLON Pod, will give a brown result. Please see the colour mixing guide on the left.
The type of fabric
Cotton, linen and viscose are perfect for dyeing. Synthetic fabrics like polyester and nylon won’t dye. Mixes of synthetics with cotton, linen and viscose will achieve a lighter shade of the colour.
The weight of fabric
One pod is enough to dye 600g of fabric to the full shade or up to 1.8kg of fabric to lighter shades. Use multiple packs to dye larger quantities. It is recommended to use the whole pod in one go.
